Description
A stunning Gen 2, 997 Carrera S in 6-speed manual and finished in Dark Blue Metallic.
The Black/Sand Beige two-tone leather interior combination works beautifully with exterior blue. It's quite a rare option for a manual 997.2. Both the interior and exterior are in exceptionally good condition for the age. And it is mechanically sound, everything tight and responsive and as good as many examples with half the milage.
Options; 19-inch SportDesign Wheels (fully refurbed during my ownership), Sport Chrono Package Plus, BOSE Surround Sound System, Heated Seats, Rear Window Wiper and Park Assist.
A comprehensive service history, predominantly from Porsche main dealers, with subsequent servicing by respected Porsche specialists.
Prior to my ownership, the previous owner had the car thoroughly inspected with a major service at an OPC. Additionally, a full inspection was carried out at Centre Gravity, the highly regarded suspension and geometry specialist. Worn suspension components were proactively replaced.
Over the last few months, the car has had a service with routine wear-and-tear items addressed, such as; Heat shields, Heat exchanger, All coil packs, All spark plugs.
Over the last few years, quite a bit has been spent to keep the car in excellent condition.
In December 2018, the car was classified as a Category S following an incident where a previous owner clipped a gatepost, damaging the driver's side rear arch. It's important to clarify that the damage was limited to the outer skin of the rear quarter panel, a part Porsche considers part of the structural shell. Although technically classified as structural by insurers, there was no actual structural damage.
The previous owner had the car inspected by Centre Gravity and it was found to be fine. After purchasing the car, I spoke with Centre Gravity myself to confirm and also had the car inspected by my independent specialist.
The repair was carried out to a very high standard and it's impossible to tell where the damage occurred, with no visible signs on the paintwork or any panel fitment. For complete transparency, images of the damage are available through mainstream paid vehicle check services.
Of course, this history is reflected in the asking price, offering an opportunity to own a well-sorted and beautifully presented 997.2 at a more accessible price point.
