Description
Hi everybody, here for sale is my Mercedes CL420, a lovely car I intended to keep but I have too many cars and a couple of big projects so I'm using it less and less and cars need to be driven. I would step in this car tonight and drive it to Scotland, that's how reliable it has been. Drive away, ice cold A/C, engine purrs.
Good bits.
Low miles at 59000 but the engine was replaced by the previous owner with a similar low mileage example at great expense if I remember well. He replaced the chains, tensioner and guides, oil filter etc as a matter of course. The previous owner to him forgot to put oil in the engine and ruined it.
I bought this in a torrential downpour. It started instantly and ran perfect. Gearbox is smooth. Mechanically I can find no faults.
As I bought this in a downpour I did not realise the bonnet needs a good polish as it is dull. I was contemplating painting it Matt black.
On the V5c it says the car is black but I would say it is a deep sparkly blue.
The previous owner also sold me discs and pads all round, brake hoses, oil filter etc and I had this all fitted at a local garage with ex Mercedes employees.
The bad and this I think is not bad at all:
The rear window passenger side has been disconnected as the white slider that pushes the window up straight is broken and I have not had the time to find another one.
The small plastic bit that covers the view from the outside of the seat belt mounting is cracked due to age although I think all the pieces are there.
There is a little bit of headlining droop.
I have not been able to open the glove compartment yet and I don't have the code for the radio which may be in the glove compartment? Service history was lost.
The seatbelt butlers work perfect.
This car is as seen, pictures form part of the description. It is advertised elsewhere so it may be removed at any time, don't wait till the last minute.
Please come and have a look at what you are buying, have a cuppa and a chat and no pressure to buy. Do your own due diligence! I'd like this to go to a good home.
I have reduced the price and will continue to do so until someone buys it, like a Dutch auction. I want it to be used as I have too many cars. I'm driving it daily at the moment and I'm getting lots of complements and looks. Starts first time every time. Oh yeah, it has soft close doors which work fine.
