Description
For sale is my MG TF LE500 in Scorched Red. It is number 401 of 500 made and must be one of the last MGTFs made.
The car is in very good condition, has had a recent genuine N series head gasket, cambelt and water pump, including all other gaskets as part of the gasket kit. There is a folder containing the previous receipts for the last few years of myself and the previous owner. Since having the head gasket replaced, I have done just over 1000 miles driving with no problems at all.
The good bits.
The car has a Scorpion stainless backbox fitted which sounds great. It has the MGTF "soft suspension upgrade" which was something offered by MG themselves as the ride on standard springs and dampers can be a bit harsh. Under the front bonnet area all the fasteners have been replaced with stainless steel items. It has had uprated gear cables fitted at the same time as a clutch replacement including the uprated clutch pivot arm with the grease point to stop the clutch seizing (a weak point on these cars).
The rear tyres are Toyo Proxes dating 2019 and the fronts are also Toyo Proxes, but were new a couple of months ago and are dated 2024. The car comes with two keys and two fobs, both of which work.
The registration number W500 MGF has been valued at 500 and comes with the car!
The bad bits.
Both front wheels could do with a refurb.
There is a spot of damage on the side bolster of the driver seat. This would be repairable by a professional.
The paintwork is overall in good condition, there are a few age related marks here and there, but the worst bit is a small piece of laquer peel above the petrol cap.
Overall the car is great and really nice to drive. The engine pulls smoothly throughout the rev range and is just as happy cruising on the motorway as it is on a B road where it can show off it's handling. I have a genuine reason for sale, which is that I don't fit properly because of my height.
The car will come with 12 months MOT.
Current mileage is 49159, but this may go up slightly if there are sunny days.
