Description

My beautiful, sublime Jag S-Type V8 Special Editionm in metallic black with black leather and contrast maple. Interior is as-new and a great place to be. This is a 2003 car when Jaguar upgraded from 4.0 engines to this much better 4.2 V8. It also has the better 6-speed gearbox. Realistically, if you're after a Jaguar V8 from this sort of era, the 4.2 6-speed is the one to have if you can get one. A lovely, luxurious, comfortable car for the long calm cruise, but it will go like a stabbed rat if you want it because it's got 300bhp but only weighs 1.7 tonnes. Even at low speed the V8 is a truly divine noise! I urge you to come and have a listen. They're getting rarer, these S-Type V8s, and even rarer in this sexy colour and interior combo. You might see a few V8s now and again in the silver, but not in this livery. All the toys - climate control, cruise control, touch-screen centre console, auto-dimming mirrors, and everything else you would expect in a luxury car of this type - and everything works perfectly as it should. No warning lights or alerts of any kind whatsoever. It also drives beautifully in every respect: engine is creamy smooth but pulls like a train, steering is bang on and precise, brakes are crisp and perfect, handling is superb. This has had 19-inch alloys fitted by the previous owner, which do make the handling a bit sportier. But If you want the original wheels for putting higher-profile tyres onto, I have a full set of those as well which you can have free of charge with the car. I also fitted the lovely wooden gear knob to replace the leather one that it had. Just so much nicer in your hand, the wooden knob, and a car like this is all about the luxury, creamy driving experience. It has had a brand new battery fitted as well, and a brand new heated windscreen. ...which brings us to why I'm selling it, because I love this thing. I came back recently to where I'd parked to find that some little scrotes had basically skateboarded onto my beloved car!! Windscreen smashed and bonnet all dented too. I was heartbroken, to be quite honest. So I've bought a new bonnet and had a brand new windscreen professionally fitted, and all that's needed is a bonnet spray for about 250 quid and the car will be as it was. But I'm so gutted, I just don't feel the same any more. So I've decided to sell it cheaply and I'll go and get another one (or perhaps an XJR from the same era). Any inspection, any test drive welcome. A sublime V8 Jag.
