Description
This eye catching car came to us in February 2000 when it was 18 months old and had travelled only 4500 miles. For the next 6 years it was used on a daily basis for commuting and was a joy to drive. It has been kept in a garage at home overnight and is certainly a pride and joy. Family and work circumstances meant that a saloon car became more practical for everyday use so this beautiful car became the extra one that was used for special outings and occasions. It attracts admiring glances every time I take it out.
When it arrived it was the most up to date vehicle with fully adjustable electric seats, fingertip controls on the steering wheel, full leather sports seats and of course the fully retractable electric hood, with easily fitted tonneau cover, to take advantage of the sunny summer days. More recent cars have many more features which of course are not present here in this car , such as lane control or reversing cameras, but that is part of its charm.
Although it is a 2 seater, there are two small seats with full seatbelts in the back which small slim adults or children can use, so it really is a 2+2.
The acceleration is as you would expect from a 4.2 litre supercharged V8 engine and the handling is as expected too.
It has classic styling and the Phoenix red colour paired with cream leather seats and cream roof is a very attractive combination in a convertible Jaguar XKR.
In the early 2000's it featured in a David Jason TV series , the Quest, and we were told he insisted on having the red XKR convertible as his car in the programme. Apart from that I have very much restricted driving the vehicle to myself and sometimes my wife.
The service history is available in full. The car currently has a personal number plate which is not for sale with the vehicle and will be removed before sale.
