Description

Just 3 owners from new. I have enjoyed owning it for 15 years. I have loved this car but now at age 74, I am using it less and less as the years pass and I am less able. So time for a new owner to enjoy it. The previous owner bought in 1980 when the car was 9 years old. He had a full professional complete chassis restoration by Leacy MG of Birmingham and every detail and bill logged. Carried out between 1998 and 2001, ALL external body panels were replaced. Underbody was stripped and refinished. Included in this period was new engine at max re-bore capacity increased to 1950cc. Stage two head and sport exhaust manifold fitted with new pair of HS6 carburettors and Kenlowe filters. Also Kenlowe thermostatic fan. It looks, sounds and runs superbly. It does perform very well. New Rv8 full cross member installed with associated telescopic wishbone suspension and twin pot disc brakes giving it excellent braking performance. Rear suspension converted to telescopic shock absorbers and new springs and axle unit. Minilite 15" alloys fitted. All interior panels, carpets, cabin and boot and walnut dashboard fitted. Seats were re-upholstered in black velour herringbone. Moto-lita steering wheel added with addition of a steering lock. Note stated mileage is post full rebuild in 1998. Previous mileage is unlogged and not known. Works out at about 1000 miles per year since then. Since then I have resealed the underside, still in as new condition throughout, including all box sections and above fuel tank with Waxoil surface treatment. This has been done three times in my ownership. 185/60 Michelin tyres have done very little mileage. All fuel rubber fuel piping, underside and engine bay has been replaced to update rubber spec to be compatible with using e10 fuel when introduced in 2021. The car is garaged and put on stands over winter and never used on wet roads. Of course the car is MOT exempt but has been tested in 17/6/25 and passed with no advisories. There are two sets of keys. With the car comes history file, workshop books, softop,(a couple of phots were taken looking through the softop rear window showing condition v good). Full tonneau cover with support bar, waterproof cover for storage. Mobile phone holder. A white coloured hardtop which I bought in 2012 and rarely used. I planned to have it sprayed to match car but never did it but it looks ok. See photos. Also four axles stands (as new) as used for winter storage. A pair of car ramps.
