Description

M648 CVC - Range Rover 4 door 'Classic' 1993 3. 9 litre V8 Automatic Hard Dash RHD Home Market car registered in Coventry. This car was built in February 1993, and the date of dispatch was 14 October 1994. This is explained by the CVC on the number plate that signifies either Prototypes, Development, Press launch, Land Rover Experience and Company management vehicles. There is now a CVC register created by enthusiasts that has been formed in an attempt to preserve these cars for the future. This Range Rover has spent most of its life in dry storage, which reflects on the general condition of the inner steel structure, which, sadly, is a renowned weakness with many of the home market cars. To ensure that the inner shell was in good order, all of the outer aluminium panels have been removed for inspection and on this occasion, there was very little remedial work to be undertaken. Inspection of the chassis showed it to be equally as good, and this has now been cleaned and then painted with a quality chassis paint. The engine, which for a 3. 9 litre V8, has only covered 117, 500 miles, most of which was covered before 1998 when it had its 90, 000 mile service. The interior is in outstanding condition and perfectly preserved. The wood trim, seats, dash, carpets, headliner (new) and overall presentation are exemplary for its age. Other works have included:- Brakes - new discs and pads fitted Swivel joint seals Front and Rear Dampers Ball joints and rubbers Antiroll bar rubbers New respray in wine red 2-pack paint New bumpers and grill panel (early classic spec) New exhaust parts Engine inspected and fully serviced. Engine, Gearbox and Differential oils renewed New belts Leads, plugs and distributor cap replaced Steel wheels and new tyres fitted. Recent MOT with no advisoriesIt is great to see the resurgence of these cars not only in the U. K. but also in many other countries, as they are seen as truly iconic classics. This Range Rover has been inspired and modelled on the Stray Dog Classics approach to restoration. this is an American company using the concept of adding a 70's spin to the later 2 & 4 door Classic Range Rover cars. Check out their website. Their cars are selling for premium prices, and I am sure that this trend will follow through into the U. K., making this car a good investment for the future. I do have a collection of Land Rovers and, on occasions, like to style a car in a way that satisfies current and future trend
