Description

This listing is for a Porsche 924 that I would describe as "ok but not great"a car with potential, in generally sound condition, but with room for improvement and a bit of a mystery history before 2015. It's the ideal candidate for someone with mechanical knowledge who wants a straightforward classic Porsche project, rather than a restoration from the ground up. The car has been stored in a dry garage since 2015, and in that time has covered just over 12,000 miles. I cannot verify the mileage prior to that or give much history beyond my own ownership. During my time with it, the car has remained largely original, with no major modifications or cosmetic changes. The bodywork is fairly solid overall, with no major rust issues visible, though inevitably there are some age-related blemishes and wear consistent with a car of this vintage. The paintwork is serviceablepresentable at a distance but not concours. Mechanically, the car runs, but not as well as it should. It starts and drives, but would benefit from the attention of someone who knows how to tune or tweak older engines properly. There are no known catastrophic issues, but the engine is not currently running at its bestpossibly due to fuel system issues, timing, or mixture settings that have drifted from spec during storage. The gearbox, clutch, and brakes all operate reasonably, but again, this isn't a turn-key daily driver; it's more of a solid platform to work from. The interior is complete, showing its age but still quite usable. Nothing's been stripped out or heavily altered. All gauges are present, the seats are usable, and the trim is largely intact. Electricals are functional, though I'd recommend a full checkover for peace of mind. To summarise: this is a usable and solid 924 with straightforward needs, ideal for someone with mechanical experience or looking for a manageable project. It's not a basket case, and it's not a showpiecejust a decent example of a classic transaxle Porsche that, with some tuning and attention, could be brought up to a very good standard. Being stored indoors has helped preserve it, and it's far too good to be scrapped or forgotten. Comes with V5C and keys. Sold as seen.
