'DAISY'- 1958 AUSTIN A35 'Miss Daisy' was born on 1 April 1958 and is 67 years old! Registered 803 DKX she was purchased by Mrs Ayres from a garage in High Wycombe. The Austin A35 was a second family car and was used for shopping and trips to the market. She was NEVER driven more than 6 miles from home and never driven in the dark! When Mrs Ayres died in 1979 the car had been driven only 18,982 miles. It was inherited by her son Mr G Ayres of Winslow. The car was brought back into running order in the condition, as seen today, and won the award for the best Austin A35 at the owners National Rally in 1980. I bought the car in 1988 and 2 years later a friend bought Daisy for his daughter. She kept the car until 2022 when I had the opportunity to buy her back. In her ownership the car yet again was never driven more than 6 miles from home or ever driven in the dark! Miss Daisy looks today as it did when I sold her in 1988! She starts and drives well but might benefit from a service as I have never driven her in the dark or more than 6 miles from home! I am reducing my car collection for no other reason than advancing years! I have known this lovely little car for 40 years and she is a cherished part of our British motoring history.
