Description

The car has been off the road since 2006 and has a mileage of 66740 miles. It is very much a project car, as the interior is very poor (see photos) and there are problems with the electrics- namely that it does not have a working speedo. The engine starts easily and runs pretty evenly, despite standing for many years. It gives the signature throaty roar of the Pre-cat Griffiths and its exhaust appears to be serviceable. In 2022, the car had its brakes overhauled, with new front and rear pads, two new discs and a fluid change. An upper steering universal joint had worn and was replaced. The work was undertaken by a local MOT garage, who confirmed that the rest of the steering and suspension was serviceable The car has always been dry stored in a good environment I have included photos of the underside of the car, which has light corrosion to its chassis and suspension arms (confirmed by the MOT garage that looked at it in 2022). The car has reasonable paintwork and its hood is in serviceable condition. The car can be driven but will need to be transported on a low loader/transporter, as it is SORN. A personalised number plate (K400TVR) is included in the sale. Footnote: The car was my late Father's, who purchased the car in 2002 and owned it until his death in August 2024. There is a hole in the transmission tunnel (see additional photo). When the speedo stopped working, my Father assumed that there was a problem with the speedo sender unit. Access to the sender unit was so difficult, in exasperation, he cut out a section from the transmission tunnel. He fitted a new sender unit but this did not solve the problem. He then turned his attention to the speedo itself and had a bespoke instrument made by Carbont Automotive () who supplied one in early 2020-. Unfortunately, by this time, my Father's health was failing and he did not fit the speedo, which required programming. The new speedo and programming instructions are included in the sale.
