Description

2005 Ford Fiesta for sale. Mot until December. 87977 miles on it. Car has served me well for around 6 years. I have a new car, otherwise I would keep it and work on the issues it has myself. The car is in good shape other than a few dents and scratches that have come with age, as it's 20 years old. The problem started with my coolant boiling. I am not sure what the issue is with this. I have changed the thermostat and it hasn't made a difference. The radiator fan isn't kicking in so I think that may have something to do with it. That is as much as I was willing to try as my mechanical knowledge is 0. I also tried a new coolant tank cap. I tried bleeding it and refilling it fresh and it changed nothing. The car drives beautifully, all 4 tyres are as good as new. If anyone knows how to prevent the coolant boiling this car could have another 80000+ miles on it. During the time I've had it it's had a new clutch, new handbrake cable, new thermostat, welding to prevent any decay underneath and new brake cables. As with any car of this age, it has issues, which I will list below: The heating works amazing but can only come out onto the windscreen, as I had to take the switch out from behind the dial as it rounded off. This could be easily replaced by taking a few screws out. The switch cable is in the glove box. This could even be fixed with just superglue into the dial holding the switch in place. Car radiator fan doesn't kick in (I believe related to boiling coolant issue) Car idles at 2000rpm which I also think is related to the coolant issue. But once you're going it's fine and revs lower. Few scratches and dents as shown in photos. 3 of the suspension springs will need changing before December mot. I did the drivers side front and the one for the passenger side is in the boot so you would only need to buy the 2 rear springs. The car looses a small amount of coolant when running due to me breaking a hose when trying to fix it, but this would be cheap and just replacing a small hose. The fuel cap cover is stuck open as the key turns on itsself when trying to lock it. This could be solved by just superglueing the key. Other than the above, most of which are minor issues, the car is perfect. It's been well maintained over the years and has had at least a grand spent on it to get this replaced and repaired. All belts and clutch etc in etc in good condition. Had handbrake and brake cables replaced. New battery put in around a year ago
