Description
I have had this car for about 8 years and it has been a solid workhorse. It has essentially been my work van during that time hence all the dings and scrapes, most of which was not my doing. There is significant damage to the front bumper and grill area, that is from a crash in March 2024 but has no effect on the quality of the drive.
This car is excellent to drive, very easy, very comfortable, lots of mod cons including air con, Bluetooth connectivity, sat nav, cruise control and my favorite the auto hold, this just means it holds you in place when you come to a stop.
Despite being predominately a work van, mechanically I have never really had any issues with it, there is one now but I'll get on to that. It has never broken down, never had a dead battery and never caused me any issues.
The mechanical issue it currently has is an oil pressure warning that comes on after about 40 minutes of driving, it's scary and loud and tells you to stop driving immediately, although you can keep going, with no other issues than the big scary noise, unfortunately I've not been able to get it looked at. The car also has some classic VW electrical faults, for example the widescreen washer being empty light, even if it's full. So potentially the oil pressure could be electrical but I'm no mechanic.
Unfortunately I don't have any service record for it, I never envisioned selling this car and thought I would keep it till it died so never bothered keeping them, I did have it serviced however, usually at the same time as the MOT which runs out in October.
Otherwise, this car is cheap to run, I usually get about 50-55 mpg out of it, depending on the journey. The tax is extremely cheap at around 35 quid a year.
If someone is willing to look after it more than I have you could have an amazing car that I believe would last another 100,000 miles. It would also be fantastic as someones first car as well.
