Description

Westfield SEW running all Ford mechanics: Fuel injected 1800cc Zetec engine, Type 9 5 speed gearbox, Ford back axle (drum brakes). Front brakes are discs. Built and registered in Cornwall in March 2004 where it stayed for 4 years, at which point I purchased her (part exchanged my 1st Westfield, a 1600CVH 4 speed). The car has been well maintained either by myself or the guys at NE Motors in Pylle, Somerset, where she has been MOTed once a year. The car comes with a fresh MOT & no advisories. NE Motors setup the ignition and fuel injection using their rolling road, and recorded 125BHP at the rear wheels. The car comes with 2 keys, comprehensive paperwork, including all old MOT's, service invoices etc & the original build manual. We have used the Westfield predominantly in the summer months only, either for sunny Sunday day trips or navigational (non-competitive) car rallies, which has taken us all over Europe (The Alps, The Pyrenees, France, Spain, Italy, Slovenia etc), during which the car has never let us down. She doesn't use any oil, always starts (and stops), doesn't smoke. The gear change is smooth, as is the clutch. All the gauges work & 4 bar oil pressure is measured. The automatic electric fan cuts in & out as required ensuring that she never overheats, even when travelling in heavy traffic or queuing. I have also fitted an oil cooler. The car comes with a full hood as well as half hood, as well as a luggage rack arrangement that straps to the spare wheel. There is also a bottle jack & fire extinguisher included in the sale. The car comes with an excellent heater and has three speeds as well as a cigarette lighter socket (to charge phones & sat navs). It has a 25 litre fuel tank with a locking filler cap. During my ownership I have replaced the standard starter motor with a high torque unit, the lead acid battery has been replaced by a lightweight gell unit, & the original Ford sump has been replaced by a slimline Dunnel sump, giving greater ground clearance. I have replaced the radiator (VW Polo) & alternator (Westfield supplied). It should be noted there are a couple of marks in the fiberglass, to be expected from a car that is 21 years old & has been enjoyed for the driving experience a car like this gives. That said, the green paintwork matches perfectly with the alloys to give the look of a 70's Lotus 7. A yellow nosecone would complete the picture. This Westfield has been a joy to own & drive, genuine reason for sale.
