Description

Offered for sale we have a beautifully presented MG B Roadster complete with history file and paperwork. Built 10th - 14th August 1964, the car was dispatched/supplied new to University Motors Limited of London on the 28th August 1964.   It was then registered for the first time on 2nd September 1964.  The heritage certificate tells us the car was Tartan Red with red trim and red hood, exactly as it today.  It was supplied with disc wheels, heater, red tonneau cover and pack-away hood.  Again, all present today. The car changed hands a few times in its early years.  But, it was when it was purchased by Christopher Postles that the car went through a significant four year renovation.  There is an article included with the history that explains how Christopher renovated the car to concours condition.  There is a list of awards that documents the car won many firsts.  "Best MGB in the Country", Best Newcomer in the Benson & Hedges International Final, Premier Class Winner at Knebworth and many 'car of the show' awards at events up and down the country.  The list ends with Best MGB at MG World NEC 1991. The car was then sold to David Begg in late 1993.  David enjoyed the car for a couple of years before selling it on to the current owner.  Since May 1995 the car has spent time in Switzerland, returning to the UK with the current owner.  Clearly, it is no longer a concours competitor but it is in wonderful condition.  Paintwork, brightwork and interior are all lovely.  The car has been through our workshop and mechanically, the car is absolutely spot on.  So much so, that our master technician, James, passed comment on how good the car is.  Rare praise indeed.  We put the car through an MOT, some advisories came up.  We've sorted them and now the car has a lovely clear MOT through to 9th July 2026. The car includes a number of hoods, tonneaus and the frame for the roof which is like new.  Cars like this don't come up for sale very often, it's history is undeniably one of the highest level of care.  This is a wonderful opportunity to own a beautiful British icon.
