Description

Honest, cheap transport is probably the best summary for this car. I bought this from my wife in 2017, and have done 110,000k of the 185k miles in her. It was my wife's 3rd mk8 Civic and I can see why - it's been utterly brilliant! It's been pretty much bulletproof reliability-wise, and I've had it serviced regularly at our local independent, and have (I think) almost every receipt for every service plus ones for tyres, etc. It has just had an MOT, and an annual minor service (it had a major service last year). There were some advisories but none require immediate attention, or affect safety (my local garage is very honest and safety conscious), and I knew I was selling it, so wasn't worth me paying someone else to fix them. The weird advisory about the back seat missing is because the base was folded up to accommodate my son's wheelchair. The number plate advisories are not relevant because that was my personal plates and the original plates are fine, and I'll have a go at the headlamps with a restoring kit if I get time, or you can have the kit and do it yourself. The bodywork is, as you'd expect, a bit worn, but still looks nice when it's clean. I'm not going to list every stone chip, but a few things to be aware of (none of which are major but I want to be honest, and they're in the photos): - the lacquer on the back part of the roof (behind the panoramic glass) has started peeling in places. No idea why, but no rust. - the paint is chipped on the boot lid edge. Again, no rust. I swapped the original perspex 'grille' for the nicer-looking black mesh sports grill (you can have the original), and the car is also currently on 18" genuine Honda alloys. They are peeling, but (again) not worth me spending money to get them refurbished. I do have the original Honda alloys with a good set of tyres on them, which are available by separate negotiation (or instead of the 18" ones on it at the moment if you want). Usual ES spec plus has an aftermarket Bluetooth adapter. Other minor issues to be aware of (see, told you I was honest): - the outside/ambient temperature sensor reads low. Never really bothered me, and apparently cheap to replace. - in the winter, I've had a couple of times it wouldn't start. The alternator has been changed, but it's apparently an intermittent suspected ECU signal issue. I bought a jump start kit last winter but haven't ever needed it. This will make great, cheap transport for someone - no silly offers please.
