Meet Pierre. We acquired Pierre at the start of the year when we were in need of a temporary replacement for another car which was beyond economical repair, leaving us somewhat stranded and in need of a hero willing to help us on school runs and commutes to work. And what hero Pierre has been! All he has asked for is a new timing belt and a good service (being French, he smokes a lot and is always grateful for a new air filter) he has been taking us to and fro for six months now without skipping a beat, just the occasional exclamation of "sacre bleu!". Pierre is showing signs of his age as you can see in the photos and it looks as though somebody has reversed into his nearside rear wheel arch at some point (zut alors!) - but underneath he is as functional as the day he left the factory. Which is to say, good enough. He has a clean MOT up to January 2026 and though we don't have a service history we have recently done a full service on him including all oil, filters, spark plugs etc plus the previously mentioned timing belt replacement. We've had not a single nasty surprise from him. He was always meant to be a temporary car for us, and though we have fallen in love with him, his replacement has arrived and it is time to part ways with the old boy. He would make a fantastic first car, or even just a cheap run around for the casual motorist.
