Description

Welcome to the sale of my 2006 mk1 TT Roadster, 1.8 20v turbo with 12 months MOT on 116890 miles. 2 keys. Working A/C and cruise control (rare on 1.8T). I bought the car in 2023, and spent the next 3 months getting it ready for a 5000 mile journey across Europe with my wife. A comprehensive list of jobs, common-fault repairs and servicing was then carried out: Timing belt, water pump and thermostat replaced Full service with High-performance oil and OEM spark plugs (oil, air filter and pollen filter changed each year since then) New OEM-spec suspension front and rear, including top mounts Cam cover gasket and timing chain gaskets replaced New OEM turbo New OEM ignition coils JVC Bluetooth Stereo (with proper factory subwoofer adaptor loom) New speakers all round inc. factory subwoofer Cruise control stalk retrofit Fresh brake fluid (twice since 2023) and new rear discs & pads Secondary air pump rebuild A/C service and regas (still works perfectly) Convertible roof service inc. new hydraulic fluid and fabric waterproofing Receipts for the majority of the major jobs, carried out by SWR Autos, Stirling. The rest carried out by myself. We have since taken the TT on another 2 similar journeys and it has performed flawlessly, averaging 36mpg. Electric convertible top works perfectly, and the roof drain hoses have been replaced (common mk1 roadster fault). Air conditioning blows very cold and everything else works as it should. Goodyear tyres all round with 7mm tread. The car is in excellent mechanical order, and drives really nicely. The engine uses no oil between services and there are no coolant or power steering leaks. Paintwork wise, there are a few areas of lacquer peel and some scuffs here and there, but my priority was making this car reliable for the long journeys we had planned. An honest, unmodified, cared-for example of a mark 1 TT from the final production year. UK/Europe ULEZ-friendly thanks to Euro 4 engine. I'd love to keep the car for longer but I don't have access to dry storage, and won't be on a driving trip next year.
