Description
This is my 1999 Aegean blue, Individual BMW 840 Ci. 5 speed auto with Sports mode. V8 4.4 litre.
In 1999 it was purchased from Park Lane BMW Mayfair London for around 62,000
Still has the window decals and Park Lane key ring.
There are 6 previous keepers and the mileage is 69,222.
I bought it in June 2023 and covered 7000 miles in that time.
Been a Ford man all my life, but this grand tourer decadence was due in the main to my 68 Shelby Mustang project taking longer than expected.
I'll resist the temptation to use all the hyperbole and jargon about the BMW 840 being the ultimate driving machine of the 90's, because that's been done to death and the information is widely available everywhere. My guess if you've gotten this far you'll hardly be torn between the 840 Ci Sport with supercar performance and Penthouse suite leather interior and a Triumph Stag or MGB GT.
A test drive of about 10 miles will prove the point.
Some things I've 'had' to do because it's the law if you've been a restorer of classics for over 35 years:-
1. complete professional re-paint. 26 years of road rash is not acceptable - hence the new Aegean blue.
2. Paint protection film on complete front end. Ceramic coating on whole of car.
3. 18" 3 piece polished wheels with genuine BBS centres. 4 new tyres to suit. 245/4018 fronts and 285/35 18 rears.
4. Stainless steel custom made Cat back exhaust with 'X' pipe and 4 tail pipe boxes. Sounds a total delight. Take note BMW !!
5. The interior headlining was treated to a charcoal Milano faux suede upgrade. The sunroof was examined and all suspect plastic ('designed to decompose' rails, levers were replaced by aluminium units.
4 selling options that might help:-
complete car with everything as described - 37750 - to include all original parts (wheels, exhaust) removed to accommodate the upgrades.
2.Minus the 18" wheels and refit OEM 17" wheels - subtract 2700
3.Minus the stainless exhaust - subtract 1150
4.4.Minus the private plate subtract 1500
Incidentally, the repaint and ppf was in excess of 8500 so that's something that doesn't need doing.
Engineers report is welcomed at buyers expense. Car never leaves my sight.
Test drive possible upon proof of comprehensive insurance.
Happy to chat. Will only negotiate a transaction with a buyer standing in front of the car after a test drive.
Absolutely NO canvassers.
Thanks Chris
