Description

Welcome to the highly reluctant sale and unrepeatable opportunity to own an incredibly rare and appreciating future classic 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition Land Rover Freelander. The Freelander was purchased brand new by my Grandad 'Phillip', back in 1998 (registered: 16/12/1998). Still proudly in his possession to this day, it is a true 'One Owner Car'. Being 1 of only 250 Anniversary Models made, this is one of few remaining examples that fell lucky. Although it now requires some light TLC its outstanding provenance make this an appealing opportunity for a Land Rover enthusiast / collector who enjoys tinkering. This particular vehicle offers many positives: 1 owner from new; low, genuine, warranted mileage (24,525 miles); full & comprehensively-documented service history (x24 Services), & a stack of paperwork (inc. the original bill of sale) - none of this can be purchased or re-written. However, some things CAN be purchased and improved upon (the TLC items): the bonnet, roof & tailgate need repainting; the exterior tailgate handle & sunroof mechanism need replacing (glass currently sits loose on top); and the interior headlining will need reupholstering. This British Icon, is completely original, has always been driven with mechanical sympathy, and has lived an extraordinarily easy life. Despite this, it has been serviced & MOT tested on a yearly basis, regardless of the mileage covered (currently MOT'd until December 2025). As such, the engine, gearbox, steering, suspension and brakes etc all function perfectly. For a 28 year-old vehicle the bodywork is in brilliant condition overall - the panels are all solid & straight. The Atlantis Blue paintwork looks outstanding in the sun. The wheels are in great condition, and come complete with x4 matching Kenda tyres. The two-tone grey & beige interior is in fantastic condition and creates a simplistic, spacious & undistracting ambience within the cabin. The perforated 'Smokestone' leather seats look as though they've never been sat in. All of the original stickers & limited edition emblems are present and intact. With a few outstanding jobs undertaken, you will most probably have one of, if not THE BEST 50th Anniversary Freelander in the UK. This nostalgic time capsule offers the rare chance to own a piece of British automotive history and relive a simpler, more engaging analogue driving experience. If you're interested in becoming the Freelander's next custodian, please give me a call. Thanks, George.
