This land rover was purchased from Hardwoods land rover Petworth, in 1955 by the Hastings family in Fittleworth, and used as a location vehicle for there company in London to take Photo graphic surveys ( thats why its got a strengthened roof), 2 months after it was new Land Rover fitted a new engine, after 7 years it came to their farm where it was used round the farm and not on the road, so it was off the road for about 20 year, i acquired it in 1981, rebuilt it to go on the road and have used it almost every year since then, everything about it is original, replaced lots of other things in about 1988, including wiring loom, new bushes, springs, re paint, I fitter a new galvanised bulk head in 2003, new clutch etc in 2023, I am the second owner for 44 years, it has been my van, play thing and hobby tinkering with it over the years, When it came to putting it back on the road no record could be found so i had to re register it keeping the same reg number and it was traced back to 1955 and it was classed as a historic vehicle, so the log book indicates first registration 1981 with special notes saying Declared , Manufactured 1955 ( Tax and MOT exempt ) lot of spare parts, History, Workshop Manual, Old photos, Old Tax disks. MOT exempt but had to put a date in box
