This 2002 Honda Civic Coup EM2 is a rare find in the UK and an ideal base for a project or modification. It was extremely popular in North America but only a few hundred of this model were ever sold here so these are hard to find now.
This car has low mileage, a fantastic engine and gearbox which has never had any issues , and a full service history with tons of paperwork,
It's a joy to drive, and would make an excellent project car. The EM2 chassis is well regarded in Honda circles, and this one still drives beautifully with excellent handling and a classic retro early-2000s look.
I bought this car from a retired lady librarian who had kept it garaged and described it as having "led a sheltered life, just driving to the library and back." Since then, it's had just one further lady owner (myself), and it's been very well cared for mechanically. It has never had a single issue with the engine, gearbox, or drivetrain and the engine is, as you probably already know if you're looking for a civic, bulletproof.
Exceptionally low mileage for the year (approx. 85,000)
Two careful lady owners most recently, for the last 10 years+
Original rear spoiler
Engine and gearbox in outstanding condition zero mechanical faults
Drives and handles extremely well and is genuinely enjoyable to drive
Sunroof, two original keys, original manuals
Huge bundle of paperwork and full service history included including more Honda main dealer stamps than you can fit in the book
Very economical on fuel, and also low cost to insure and tax
New exhaust fitted recently
Known Issues / Honest Points (which are reflected in price)
MOT expired due to minor suspension components (bushes), cloudy headlamp lenses and wipers all straightforward fixes for someone handy.
A small patch of rust on one sill.
A cosmetic scrape along one side while parked does not affect performance or drivability. Bodywork quote received for around 250 to fix this.
Selling reluctantly as it's still the best car I've ever had but would be a brilliant project.
