Description
An exceptional 996 C4S for sale - Meticulously cared for and with a rare spec:
- Lapis blue
- 62k miles
- Manual
- Sports seats
- Sunroof
The car is in brilliant condition, having always been lovingly cared for and regularly used by me. The temptation is always to buy a lower mileage car (as I did, buying the car at 47k miles). I can guarantee that at 62k miles this is now a better car (mainly due to regular use and coupled with loving maintenance, routinely fixing small issues as they come up).
The service history (once a year minimum) a mixture of Porsche and reputable independent specialists. It has a full book of to go with it.
Work I have had done on it that is worth calling out:
- PCCM infotainment unit from 'Porsche Classic' fitted. This is an official Porsche product, and looks in period but brings infotainment up to today's standards (Apple Carplay etc).
Bespoke suspension fitted by Centre Gravity (known to be the best in the business). The suspension is a Bilstein product, which CG co-developed with Porsche to make the car more suitable on British roads. You don't notice any difference in the handling characteristics but it is much more supple on our roads. Original suspension comes with it too.
Other work done which is more routine and indicative of the way in which the car has been cared for:
- IMS and RMS both replaced
- When the new suspension was fitted, all of the 'secondary' components (top mounts, lower control arms, etc)were also replaced. Every 996 needs these replacing at some point.
- Centre Gravity also did a full balancing / tracking on the car so it runs straight as an arrow on the road.
- New discs and pads at the front within the last 2 years
- Michelin PS4s all round with plenty of life lift in them
- Wheels refurbished within the last 2 years.
- Boot hydraulics replaced (these started to lose their oomf after a while)
- Air Conditioning (often breaks on these cars) has been brought to as new condition with all seals replaced
- Headlights have been polished and relacquered (to remove the yellow which is common if left untreated)
Known issues with the car:
- There is a paint blister on the bonnet. About 1cm across. Not noticeable but a perfectionist may want to touch that up at some point.
- The Porsche 'switchable exhaust' has a valve at the back which is stuck. This means that the tone does not switch when you push the button.
Only 1 key. You can have second one easily made
