Description

Highly sought after 1994 Mazda MX5 1.8L iS in British Racing Green, bought eight years ago and not many miles put on since then, with a total of 125,850 miles. This highly desirable model comes with the more powerful 1.8L engine, extra chassis bracing, and an LSD from stock. Mechanically perfect, it has been a deeply loved car, always well maintained with a thorough service history, and has never been tracked. The car has been sensibly and lightly modified to enhance the driving experience; Gaz Gold damp-adjustable fixed height coilovers make the car sit 30mm lower than stock, and give tighter, responsive handling whilst still being plenty compliant enough for British roads. A cobalt midpipe and backbox gives a delightful burble as you snick your way through the gears. Everything else is stock and untouched. I can provide the original suspension for a little extra. In 2021 I spent 3000 pounds having both front sills and one rear sill and arch completely redone by the very best at MX5 Restorer down in Pevensey (if you know MX5s, you know they are the only place to go for this), as well as a new softtop. Ive also switched out third party wheels for the original daisies, wrapped in Dunlop Sport Bluresponse tyres that have been barely used and have plenty of tread left on them. All original interior, spare tyre, engine bay, etc. always had regular oil changes, not just in the engine but occassional gearbox and diff oil too. Like I say, a labour of love. Recent MOT valid until June 2026 The downsides: There's not much wrong with this car compared to many others out there. But she is 30 years old now, so of course not everything is perfect: The aerial motor is broken and will need replacing A few dings and small scratches along the bodywork Plastic rear screen has scratches on it, presumably from foxes jumping on the comfy roof. Cambelt is likely due to be replaced - however the engine is non interference. Rear nearside sill and arch is rusting, and will need replacing. Please note the price takes this fully into account. This car runs like a dream and handles beautifully. Please note viewings are currently only available on the weekend of the 26th-27th August. Looking forward to showing this classic to you!
