This veichle has just had a full professional engine rebuild at 175k after the cambelt let go. The vehicle has been driven cautiously for the first 1000 miles to allow bearings and seals to bed in properly. Work carried out as follows. Full de-construction and de-grease with all ancillaries removed for attention. (For those who are not quite sure what constitutes an engine ancillary, simply put an engine is the block, crank shaft and head. Everything else is an ancillary e.g., an injector or turbo or EGR valve, clutch etc and will need to be assessed for condition and longevity should the original one be put back. The bare cylinder head is pressure tested and skimmed. Valves are cleaned and new valve stem oil seals fitted. The engine block is also pressure tested and honed to perfection with new piston rings. When necessary, the crank shaft is re-ground and polished before assembling with new big ends and main bearings. A new water pump is fitted. The oil pump is cleaned and tested to ensure constant and correct oil pressure is maintained A new timing belt/chain is fitted. Injectors and turbo are cleaned and tested. Assembly is meticulous using only OE quality components, with an entire gasket kit (not sealant) and new oil filter and a good viscous oil to protect your warranty. The cooling system gets the once over and the radiator flushed.) Warranty: 12 Months or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first) This engine has had all injectors replaced. New cam tray and cams. New cylinder head. Crankshaft ground. New cambelt. Bearings renewed, new water pump, oil and filter change, fuel line flushed through. Detailed bill available from workshop. This vehicle is fitted with an android head unit which is good for wireless android auto+apple carplay with all steering wheel controls working other than push to talk which hasn't been an issue for me.
