Description
After 12 years in the family, the Volvo is to find a new home. Purchased from a one-owner family in Moreton in Marsh, we have added alloys, some Hella spotlights, as well rare cargo cage and fold away rear seats. Fun and cool. A new radio and speakers were added but original (with tape player) will come with the car.
Mainly self-serviced with oil changes every 12 months, there's also service history for MOT's and other upscale maintenance. It's been my daily driver in all this time and is a bit iconic around town here. We never had a problem, except for a water pump that needed replacing about 8 years ago. She has otherwise always been bomb-proof and will happily do 70mph on the motorway. This car has the larger and late 2.3 engine, is manual and while I occasionally wished for a 5th gear, it's not needed and the mechanics are all strong and good. I just bought an Ineos Grenadier in mid July, another piece of granite which explains this sentimental sale.
The car is generally straight and clean, particularly for the year. The only key issue is that there is some rust underside on the drivers side; I arranged some welding and respray of areas 3-4 few years ago and that could do with some further attention at some point. The interior is very good also for the year, save for a blemish or two in the driver's seat upholstery. Pricing is intended to take these matters into account. The licence plate is not private but gets a smile.
So a cool relaxed car or the beginning of an iconic project, this car has been faithful and good.
