Description
It is with a heavy heart that I am listing my Porsche Cayman S 987.2 for sale.
The car has been looked after by OPC and independents (Kendal OPC, Jasmine Porschalink, Porsche Klassiker, MLR Porsche) throughout its entire life and boasts a full service history with servicing done every year regardless of mileage (as opposed to the 2 year interval Porsche recommend). The car is accompanied by a folder full of significant invoices which supports the level of love and attention the car has received throughout its life.
The car is in Basalt Black which can really pop in bright sunlight with blue/purple tones. Factory options include rear parking sensors, heated Sport seats, Carrera Sport 2 alloys & PASM. The car is standard, save for Zunsport radiator grills to protect the radiators, a switchable sorts exhaust and a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto headunit. The original PCM 3.0 headunit is included.
There is no damage to the bodywork except some minor stone chips, which have been touched in very well, commensurate with the age and mileage. The alloy wheels were refurbished 4 years ago and would benefit from a further refurb but I simply haven't gotten round to sorting them and they don't detract much from the car.
Mechanically the car is faultless, with light and accurate steering, effortless brakes and an engine that comes alive above 3k whilst being without the risk of IMS and bore scoring issues; but if you're looking for a Gen 2 car you likely already know that. Brake pads and discs have plenty of meat on them with no scoring or lipping to the discs.
The interior presents really well with no signs of wear or damage to the bolsters or other touch points.
Recent work includes a coolant flush and new gear shift cables fitted in July 2025, 2 new front tyres fitted in January 2025 (continental sport contact 7) with a full wheel alignment. Front shocks, tie rods and track rod ends, front & rear tuning forks, new front subframe, front & rear springs and mounts, front coolant pipes. The car was serviced by MLR Porsche in April 2025.
This has been a truly thrilling car to own and it continues to put a massive smile on my face, however due to now having 3 impractical cars and living within walking distance to work, I'm not using the car sufficiently and it is time for someone else to enjoy it as much as I have whilst I slip into something more practical.
Mileage will rise slightly as the car is still in infrequent use.
