Welcome to The Car Cavern and thank you for looking at this extremely rare Mercedes 420 SEC we have to offer. I have had this car in dry storage for around 8 years after taking in in part exchange but as I have recently downsized its time for it to find a new home. Now I am no classic car expert but I am of the understanding that this is 1 of only 98 right hand drive cars in the UK. This 420 has had 9 owners recorded in its 38 years who have clearly cherished this car as its condition certifies. After years in storage we took the car for an MOT and it failed would you believe on the number plates delaminating and the rear fog light not working, these issues have now been rectified so it comes with 12 months MOT. Whilst at the garage we had a full service carried out to replace all filters, spark plugs and engine oil, I had also fitted a new radiator over the winter. We are still trying to workout the service history but its had in excess of 20 services and comes with most if not all previous MOT`s. Now the condition of this car is amazing for its age but there are some blemishes on the bodywork which from 10 feet away are not noticeable but are apparent upon close inspection and the rear bumper has corrosion too. That said its still a very striking looking car as you can see from the photographs. The interior is fantastic and does not smell musty like you often get in an old car, the seats are in lovely condition as are the carpets including the boot carpet. Having checked what works and does not it is fair to say that the electric windows, central locking, electric sunroof, electric seatbelt stalks, electric seat adjustment all work, the only slight issue is that that hand brake lever appears not to retract correctly. We have 2 keys and the car drives like a dream ! So what this car represents is a true classic car with loads of history and no major issues and can be used regularly without any major work, what it is not a concourse vehicle that is like the day it left the showroom.
