Description

A workhorse that's done me proud, but equally comfortable on a longer trek. Photos are taken to reflect this reality, but rest assured that she will have a full scale clean and polish before being handed over! Mechanically and electrically sound. Latest major service completed 31st March 2025. MOT valid until December 2025. Tax valid until April 1st 2026. I have owned her since 2011 - the second owner. She has always proven safe and reliable to me, never failing in any conditions faced, including deep snow, fields of mud and floods - as would be expected of a quality Defender. Over the years, no change or modification has been necessary to the engine. Replacements of the brake and clutch master cylinder have been made in the past. Latest MOT and service/ health check showed minor defects or considerations for repair - for total transparency I list these below: - Reg plate lamp - Track rod end ball joint still prevents dirt ingress, but has deteriorated - Small windscreen crack (this was repaired although remains visually evident - no issue) - Auxiliary belt slightly worn but operative with no other issue - Rear step attachment slightly loose All other matters are the 'usual' Defender issues such as minor rust and outer wear and tear. The starter motor was also recently erratic, so I had this fully tested and no problem was detected (approved Land Rover garage). She is equipped with electric windows, CD player, and fuel immobiliser switch which is very useful indeed for added security. Tyres in very good condition (BF Goodrich All Terrain). I will emphasise now that I would appreciate all offers and discussions to be transparent from both sides, for maximum simplicity for all parties - I'm happy to host a test drive too of course, but if a sale is agreed, it is done with full honesty from me as to her condition, and therefore I will not be hosting post-sale discussions about any other 'issues' that may arise. This is part of the reason that I would prefer someone familiar with Defenders and their unique needs. However, any interested parties are welcome, and of course I'm more than happy to discuss my own experience and knowledge with those who may be just 'dipping toes' into the Defender arena. It has been a very tough decision to put her on sale. She has many useful miles left I'm sure, but my circumstances have changed and I would like her to go to a new home. As long as she's looked after, she will not let you down.
