For sale is my 2001 BMW E39 525 i SE auto in green. In good original condition for the year. The E39 is renowned for being one of the best cars BMW ever built. Timeless design and silky smooth straight six normally aspirated engine. There is no rust on the car. There is a grey cloth interior which is in really good condition; there are no rips tears or stains. It is MoTd until 11th Feb 2026 . The alloys are in superb condition. The car has covered 142000 miles. I bought it in December 2009 from my next door neighbour who was the second owner. So in 16 years I have covered only 41000 miles. It has been used occasionally as a second car. There is a full service history. The first 60000 m servicing was completed by the local BMW main dealer. Since then it has been serviced by local garages (covered by receipts not book stamps). All the original paperwork and receipts have been retained. Several jobs have been done, e.g. new radiator, autobox oil / filter have been changed, and there is a new Light Control Module. There are two keys. The car is smooth to drive. The auto box and manual shift work as expected. There are four problems to mention. There is a small dent in the n/s rear panel. This is not very noticeable, the paint is intact, and I am told it would "pop out" easily. Secondly, the o/s rear door mechanism has been unplugged and needs to be replaced, (the rest of the central locking works fine. This is not a mega job either - parts readily available on eBay. Thirdly there is a insignificant oil leak from the engine ( mentioned in MOT advisories). Lastly whilst the climate control works it could do with re-gassing. We don't need a second car any more , so if you want a future classic BMW , this is the car for you
