Description
MOT expires soon 25 Sep 2025. Selling as car recently developed faults that are no longer economical for me (as I can't do my own repairs).
Have owned since Oct2017 and driven about 45k miles. BMW E61 has the N52 engine - 3 litre normally aspirated. I have fuelled it with super unleaded and it drives beautifully - smooth and powerful with great roadholding.
Car has been maintained with a local German car specialist.
Beside wear and tear, faults I am aware of as follows.
In May25, the engine started up with no power and juddered. The garage identified fault codes 30E2 Nitrogen Oxide sensor overrun test, 29D1 Cylinder 5 misfire and 29D0 Cylinder 4 misfire. All codes were cleared. However, due to the car's age, the garage recommended replacing the NOX sensor, all plugs, coils and injectors.
Since then, as I need to rely on my car for commuting, I have rarely driven it even though it has driven fine (as usual), except the car is now flashing a yellow ramp light on start up and the battery is weak as the clock is resetting to zero. Please see photos for details.
Other issues are the near-side mirror, whilst original, so powered, heated and auto-dimming needs replacing to meet MOT requirements as the liquid crystal has leaked - see photo. The driver side mirror is starting to show signs of marking.
The rear parking sensor does not always stop bleeping after detecting a hazard ; this can be switched off when set off has not been an issue in MOT's to date.
I have kept all my receipts which include aircon recharge (Apr25), new water pump (Mar25), four new Bridgestones (Sep24), replace cam cover gasket (Jun22), new coolant expansion tank (Apr22) and annual services.
