BMW 2001 E46 M3 - Big '2' Done, CSL Boot, Great Mechanicals
I've owned my E46 M3 since 2013 and absolutely love it! It's a great example of a classic manual E46 M3, with key maintenance already completed: VANOS rebuild and rod bearings replaced (paperwork included). The rear boot floor has been inspected by multiple BMW specialists, showing no signs of cracking or concern, but you're very welcome to check it on arrival.
Mechanically, the engine has never had any issues and runs perfectly. As she's coming up to 25 years old soon, the car does need some TLC cosmetically and has a few bits of rust that will eventually need sorting, but I've managed to get most of that under control recently with around 4.5k spent at a specialist body shop on the underside (receipts/paperwork included).
Recently, both lower control arms were replaced due to play. Supporting photos of the underside, taken by Hack Engineering (BMW specialists) are available for serious buyers.
There's a genuine CSL boot lid fitted along with an Eonon D5150 entertainment system. The wheels aren't in the best shape cosmetically and would benefit from refurbishment - it would completely transform the car I reckon!
A couple of things to note: the differential makes a noise under full lock (as far as I know, can be common on E46 M3s) and the air conditioning needs repair due to a suspected leak.
Full-service history included (along with all paperwork/receipts since original owner), with the last major service (Inspection II) done at Hack Engineering. I've completed a couple basic services myself (i.e. oil/inspection I), as I used to work for BMW (records in the service book, though without dealer stamps). All original keys available 2 remotes (one battery dead), spares and wallet key.
Features include cruise control, heated seats, electric seats, tyre pressure monitoring and a great, mostly standard setup with no major mods to the car.
Overall, a well-maintained E46 M3 with the essential maintenance done and a solid mechanical car. Cosmetic work and rust management will be needed going forward, which is reflected in the price.
I've also got full history of the car (HPI check) which I've checked via CarVertical, which you are more than welcome to look at (if serious), but again, you're more than welcome to check this yourself beforehand.
Please also note this M3 is finished in Original Metallic Schwarz paint with a subtle blue metallic shimmer in sunlight.
Thanks for looking!
