HIGHLIGHTS (during my ownership)
- Agreed insurance valuation of 20K with classic car insurer Howdens. Many of the photos here were used for the agreement.
- Bilstein B12 suspension upgrade inc. matched Eibach springs making the ride firmer and taughter than stock.
- Upgraded cooling: Mishimoto aluminium radiator/steel vaned water pump (this year)/replaced viscous coupling.
- Replaced clutch/"dual mass" flywheel, windscreen & hardtop lining.
- Recently replace rear suspension bushes (Powerflex purple).
- Mintex disks fitted all round. New front pads recently.
- Ice cold A/C with replaced condenser.
- Very rare Alpina staggered 17"rims (9j/8j). (No valves on show!). The only M3 with these wheels to my knowledge. The best look IMHO!!
- Wind deflector and bespoke protective cover included.
- MOT to 15/9/2026.
- Gearbox and differential oil changed.
- Front diff seal replaced
- 100% reliable, used for trips all over the UK. Always used Shell V-Power. Does 32 to 35mpg on normal drive trips, trying not to exceed speed limits!!
- Oil changed regularly, early. Has never used a drop between oil changes and oil stays clean.
- Vanos silent.
- Owned 15 years. Selling due to recent purchase of a massive spec. 640d LCi cabriolet (more suited to my 65+ years).
- Has a Thatcham Cobra alarm (old but works fine) and 2 key sets.
- Space saver wheel in boot to reduce weight.
- Genuine BMW E36 mud flaps added to protect bodywork, never offered as an extra from new, I'm told.
- Never tracked/raced/ragged or thrashed, or whatever the (term that relates to being abused) during my ownership.
The car is not pretending to be concours, but draws much attention and is used properly to keep it in fine fettle mechanically.
There is a lot of history with the car, mostly receipts for work that I have done myself during the latter 15 years or so, and some from previous owners. I have always maintained my cars myself where possible, having been hands on for 50 years.
All interest appreciated and I look forward to answering any questions you may have. Sensible offers considered. (I am based in Leicester).
I will add more photos if requested.
