Description
It’s not often we use the word ‘unrepeatable’, but in this case it fits. This 1992 Toyota Celsior isn’t just one of the finest cars we’ve had the privilege of offering – it might be the best-preserved example of its kind anywhere.
Known globally as the Lexus LS400, the Toyota Celsior was Japan’s uncompromising answer to the world’s best luxury saloons. Built to outdo the Germans on silence, quality and durability, it was Toyota at full tilt. And it shows.
This particular car was imported to the UK in 2024 by its sole UK keeper, having covered a scarcely believable 4,146 certified miles from new. And no, that’s not a typo.
Over three decades, it has been preserved with such care that factory plastic still covers the door sills and dash panels. The condition is nothing short of astonishing – showroom-fresh in every respect.
Torque GT carried out a full mechanical recommission in 2024 at 3,628 miles. All fluids were replaced, along with belts, rocker cover gaskets and the water pump. A clear Lanoguard underseal was also applied to preserve the underside without compromising its originality.
Specification is as you’d hope from a flagship JDM saloon: flawless Dark Green paint protected by a ceramic coat, grey wool upholstery with original embroidered doilies, air purifier, ultrasonic wing mirrors and a factory-upgraded stereo with subwoofer.
Naturally, it drives perfectly. Tight, silent and eerily smooth. Everything works exactly as it should. Of course it does – it’s a 1990s Toyota that’s barely been used.
A genuine collector’s item, and a rare chance to acquire a Celsior of this calibre. Whether you store it, show it or simply admire it, opportunities like this don’t come around twice.
