Description
If you're in the market for an unmodified low mileage UK supplied E31 850i V12 with a fascinating history, please read on!
Glacier Blue (silvery-blue) with Ultramarine (dark blue) interior.
1 of 17 RHD E31s in this stunning colour combination.
In my ownership for 15 years.
Previous long term owner of 17 years (1993-2010).
Originally registered to BMW UK Head Office.
Only BMW Main Dealer stamps in the original service book.
Last serviced August 2023 (63,764m at Soper BMW, Lincoln).
Current mileage is 64,100.
I've kept every single receipt from the past 15 years, as did the previous owner. Full file of paperwork going back well over 3 decades to c.1993.
Built 24th November 1989, stored by BMW Germany for 2.5 years, shipped to UK on 22nd July 1992, stored for a further 3 months, registered to BMW UK on 19th October 1992.
The build date makes this the oldest known BMW E31 worldwide released to the public. Number 41 out of old 30,621 E31s built and number 2 of all RHD models produced.
Before this 850i became known on the E31 worldwide register, the oldest known example ever released to the public was one in Australia, built May 1990. The oldest known UK based E31 before mine was built 11 months later in October 1990 and that one was considered a very early car by enthusiasts before mine surfaced.
It has various cost optional extras in addition to standard spec. These include Electronic Damper Control, rear electric sunblind, auto air recirculation, auto-dip rear view mirror and heated front seats.
Copy of fax from BMW dealer in 1992 confirming 64k list price (140k in today's money!).
The car has covered around 3500 miles during my ownership. Servicing has been done every 3 years due to low annual mileage.
Current M.O.T. valid to 14/10/25. A new M.O.T. will be provided prior to sale. Every M.O.T. certificate from its first one in 1995 are present in the file.
Parts replaced during the past couple of years includes brake hoses, brake pipes, brake fluid, brake 'bomb', spark plugs, distributor caps, rotor arms, mass air flow sensors, HT leads, fuel filters, headlining replaced.
Tyres replaced mid-2020 (1100m ago).
Cosmetically, not 'mint'. However, very good for a 36 year old vehicle. Blemishes as to be reasonably expected for age.
Private registration will be retained.
Various modern classic car dealers have shown interest, however I'd much prefer to sell direct to a private enthusiast / collector.
Many thanks for looking!
