Description
1969 4.2 litre Jaguar E type series 2
The car was imported from the USA in 2007 and has Chassis No.1R42239BW ans Engine No. 7R37891-9. It was completely disassembled and renovated by two experienced joint-owners who rebuilt the engine and all the mechanical and fitted parts replacing many with new items from SNG. The interior is completely new with soft fawn leather and maroon beading to suit the bodywork. The wire wheels and tyres are brand new and the steering is light and responsive. The coachwork is very good but with few paint bubbles .The underside is all neat and tidy. This Series 2 E-Type 2+2 was totally renovated over a six-year period. The steering is now RHD and the two original Zenith carburetors have been replaced by three SU ones as on the Series 1 but otherwise it is as original spec with matching numbers. It drives superbly with a robust BW automatic and good road holding.
I bought this beautiful E type in Oct 2014 from A1 classic ,Berwick on Tweed and been enjoying driving it since, it's smooth and full of sense of occasion.
The car had been converted from L hand drive as most of the cars produced at the time were shipped to USA . The car then had extensive refurbished to high standard eg brand new interior leather , lovely biscuit colour leather with red piping and slim wood steering wheel and full wired alloy .
The car recently ( 1 month ago )had been services
New seal to automatic gear box
New HT leads
New spark plugs
New distributor cap
Oil filter and oil changes
Brakes all clean
I have driven this car for 2000 miles over 10 yrs and can vouch for its drivability, comfort and reliability. It makes a very usable E-Type at a price which will not detract from the pleasure of driving it under modern traffic conditions.
The reason I am selling is because I don't have time to look after it and drive it ..
The car has 92000 miles on the clock and starts and run smoothly this and quietly as it is should .
The body structure is totally solid but has a few paint work bubbles.
The car is registered as historical vehicle ie no need for MOT nor ROAD TAX.
The car is NOT IN SHOWROOM condition hence a low price to reflect that .
The car is sold as seen and with no guarantee as a private person.
Once the money is transferred , there is NO come back
Please come and see the beautiful car and I will take you out for a drive unless you can show me specific insurance cover. The car is keep at Darlington.
Thanks for looking
