Description
Every now and again an opportunity arrives to own a very rare Landrover Defender 110. Built in the year 2000 and customer specified with a V8 Rover engine - also fitted with an LPG system.
This Defender combines all the power, reliability and simplicity of the Rover V8 engine - with superb LPG economy (equivalent to 40mpg!! - better than a TD5 diesel engine) along with being on a late chassis / body - with a current R380 gearbox.
This Rover drives better than any other you will have looked at of this age. It is in a superb all round condition and just undergone a complete color change and body work restoration to dark gloss grey. There are a few small bruises and marks on the inside and could do with a few small tweaks to improve its look seat covers etc- but it is in an excellent and well above average condition.
Mileage is 200,000 miles but has only done just over 5000 miles on this new crate engine V8 engine. This truck is very rare and only 1 of 2 built in the year 2000 for export to Bosnia. Land Rover ceased installing the iconic Rover V8 engine into the Defender range in 1994 and so to find a year 2000 truck with the V8 is obviously very unusual.
It was fitted from new and at the factory with an SU carburettor V8. The reason the truck was specified in this way was due to the reliability and ease of maintenance of the engine as well as the shortage of good diesel in Bosnia at the time. The truck was exported to Bosnia by Conrico (Conrico are the Company who buy and supply Land Rovers for export all over the world). For those in the know - this vehicle has been built to ROW (Rest of World) specification . The vehicle is UK registered and is 100% Hpi clear.
The truck is fitted with a standard R380 gearbox
The LPG conversion has 100 litre tank installed in the rear, the vehicle is switch-able between petrol and LPG use, with both tanks full the vehicle has a range of approx 600 miles.
The chassis and bulkhead has no rust. This is largely due to the fact that it spent its first 8 years of life in storage in the South of France.
Its on a set of excellent and almost new BF Goodrich all terrain tyres which are fitted to heavy duty wheels. With a further 4 spare wheels and tyres.
We have a comprehensive list of paper work and receipts for services and parts fitted.
The truck has been regularly serviced (its just had a full service - the engine runs like new. The gearbox and all final drive are in perfect working condition.
