Description
We have owned the car from new. Still running and driving fine.
Always been serviced and repaired by VW independent specialists with FSH and still have most of the receipts for work done.
Interior in great condition for its age and all electrics (aircon, parking sensors, automatic wipers, etc.) still working.
New timing belt and water pump at 150,000 miles.
New front brake discs & pads in February.
New rear calipers, discs & pads Dec. 23.
No. 2 injector replaced at 150,000 miles, No. 3 replaced at 120,000.
Clutch replaced at 108,000.
DPF cleaned at 100,000.
4 All-season tyres.
2 keys.
The car does have a couple of issues-
ABS warning light on (probably a faulty sensor).
Problem with temperature sensor (caused by a blockage in the heater matrix due to a plastic part deteriorating over time and breaking up). It causes the temperature gauge to rise rapidly when going uphill but change down a gear and the gauge returns to normal.
The DPF warning light was coming on towards the end of last year. Got it turned off for the mot and it hasn't come back on since, despite having driven another 2,000 miles. Mechanic thinks it was probably due to the car being driven mostly at low speed around town.
As said earlier, the car is running and driving fine.
Alloys worn.
Rear bumper badly worn due to 2 low-speed knocks (but passed mot fine).
Scrape on passenger-side front bumper.
A number of patches of rust at the bottoms of panels/doors.
