Description
We've owned our low mileage Saab for just over ten years but, sadly, the time has come for her to go due to the arrival of a motorhome. The Saab 9-3 is a full 4 seater and superbly comfortable. This is the run-out Anniversary Edition with double din Radio/CD/Navigation, special paint. As the 2.0T Aero model this car really is a bit of a flying machine and drives spectacularly well and has had the Saab approved Hirsch engine performance upgrade giving an extra 10% power increase from the standard 210hp to an estimated 230+hp, certificate included with paperwork.
Recent brake overhauls including front discs and calipers ensure safe stopping too. Loads of service and MOT/mileage history including the original service books, manuals and wallet. Tyres are all good with plenty of tread. It has a detachable towbar fitted with 13 pin electrics. I have towed once a few years back, a 1400kg caravan, which she handled without any problem. There are two working key fobs plus a spare key blade. New battery earlier this year. During the winter I usually take her off the road and fully cover her, the cover I use is included in the sale. Worth noting that this car is ULEZ compliant. The car has a new MOT certificate. The hood is fully watertight; I clean and reproof (Fabsil) every couple of years. The mechanical operation of the roof is perfect.
The car has always started on first turn of the key and drives perfectly, the gearbox operates faultlessly in full auto or manual modes
Now the bad bits! I am trying to be open and honest as I don't want to waste yours or my time. There are two car park body dents, neither my fault! One is to the n/s/f wing and the other to the o/s/r wing as shown in the attached photos. The rest of the bodywork is in very good shape. The aircon isn't that cool and probably needs a re-gas as I haven't had it done for 5 years; the heating is fine. The radio/CD player works fine however the unit has ceased to read the Navigation Disc. I haven't bothered to investigate further as the map version DVD is now 15 years out of date, and I don't think an upgrade is available. There are specialist repairers out there if you with to retain originality but a decent double din head unit with modern satnav and CarPlay is probably a cheaper option. I use a stand-alone Garmin which I can throw in if required. Overall, for her age she's a great drive and a lovely reliable vehicle, I'll be sad to see her go.
