Hi all. The time has come to sell my beloved MR2. I bought this car as an MOT failure in 2021, originally as an engine donor for my last MR2 which started burning oil badly. Not only was the engine as sweet as a nut, but it turned out that the bodywork was really straight & was an altogether better car than my other one, so I spent the money to get the repairs done & have enjoyed weekend driving ever since. From memory, since I have owned it, it has had 4 brake callipers, pads & discs all round, a n/s/f shock absorber, both front hub bearings & the power steering pipes have also been replaced as they were starting to corrode. The handbrake is excellent & the emissions are spot on too. The bodywork is excellent for its age, with only a couple of minor scuffs worth mentioning. Both the hard & soft tops are watertight & I have not experienced any leaks even in the worst downpours. I'm guessing that the hardtop has been fitted most of the car's life as the soft top is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. The car originally had a red/brown interior I never really liked the colour of, so it is now sporting a set of all black leather Celica seats with matching door cards which, as well as being more comfortable, look better in my opinion. The wheels could do with a refurb tbh & I always had in mind to put a set of quality tyres on at the same time but since the current tyres have good tread I was waiting for them to wear out first. I have had too much fun driving it to take it off the road & to have this done tbh. There are a couple of minor scuffs on the body & one on the bumper corner but I really never found the time to get them sorted. The panels are straight & there is no rust on the arches etc. It still turns heads at 23 years old. I really love this car; the handling is sublime but it's not getting used as much as it should & it's stopping me riding the bike so I think the time has come to let it go to a new home. The car is MOT'd until June 2026 & has just had both front lower arms, ball joints anti roll bar links & bushes replaced as they were getting worn.
