Bulletproof Mercedes W124 230TE with 10 months MOT Link to walkaround: This particular example is from the best year for build quality; 1991. Its a fully mechanical, iconic car. This car is by no means concourse, but it's in good working condition. The car drives smoothly and has a good amount of perk from the 2.3 litre m102 engine which is quite torquey. The gearbox shifts smoothly. The perks to this particular car is that both rear sills have zero rust on them. the body also features minimal rust, the paint work however has sun damage, it could benefit from a sand and a couple coats. The front wings have suffered from corrosion which I have remedied. Work done in the past few weeks (mostly preventative and also to get it through next mot in 10 months): New water pump New heavy duty weather seals on all the doors New fuses Lightly Refurbished the door cards Upgraded sound proofing/Insulation I have patched rust damage on the front fenders with appropriate rust prevention coatings. (last photo) I have refurbished all window regulators and greased for long term reliability. It has had a new durable coolant hose with heavy duty clamps from Westfield fasteners. Repaired surface corrosion near bulkhead with professional rust converter and primer as per preventative maintenance WD40 on electrical connections to prevent oxidation. Brand new spheres and hydraulic lines. Brand new OEM spec hydraulic fluid. Small rust hole on chassis welded and then primed followed by a thick polyurethane rubber coating to prevent any further damage or corrosion The capacitors on the ECU have been replaced as preventative maintenance, but the car ran absolutely fine before and also without the ECU anyway which I have tested. New valve cover gasket, valve cover inside cleaned. I have also installed reference level Dayton audio speakers in the rear doors while maintaining the original Sony grills to keep the classic speaker look without the crappy original speaker drivers. quirks: Tailgate water dispenser doesn't work Steering whine when cold The water pump is a little rattly at times at idle, but not when you are moving Located near Brackley
