Description
If you are reading this ad, there's a good chance you're a Porsche enthusiast and are fully aware of the exclusivity and collectability of the 2.5 Manual Boxsterover and above the standard 2.7s and even the 3.2 S cars. The 2.5s are the very earliest editions of the 986 Boxster and mark the beginning of the Boxster story.
Produced in far fewer numbers than their counterparts, the appeal of the 2.5 goes well beyond rarity. Being the lightest and purest version of the Porsche roadster is why the 2.5 is so adored and collectible. At some 30-50 kg lighter overall, it delivers a truly connected and spirited driving experience, and its shorter bore stroke gives the 2.5 a uniquely punchy, rev-happy character.
I have owned this little gem for some time now. I work for Porsche, so she has benefited from a lot of in-house work and quality parts. In my ownership, she has had:
A new roof with the desirable heated rear window
New ignition coils
New window regulator
New catalytic converter and back box
Both gearbox mounts replaced
New battery
I have spent 2,000 in the last eight months alone.
She does still require a few simple jobs to make her perfect, and these are:
Faded paint on the rear wing and bumper
Front lower arms (parts supplied)
Front shocks (parts supplied)
I'm also including 1,000 worth of free parts: front springs, top mounts, rear lower arms with fixings, and a repair kit for the wind deflector stay. She had a major service last year, including new spark plugs.
Sadly, due to other commitments, I've run out of time to finish the last few bits needed to make her fantasticso it's time to pass her on to someone who will love and enjoy her. She comes with a strong provenance file and many service stamps in the book.
Well-sorted 2.5s are already changing hands for considerably more money, so complete the remaining work and you'll have made a very shrewd purchase.
