Description
Fair to say this is a rather unique vehicle!
What started life as a humble Audi 80 has been (visually) converted into a full Touring Car recreation by specialists Area 22 Designs.
I bought it a few months ago with the intention of converting it into a track car, with plans for to fit an Audi TT 225 engine, uprated brakes and an FIA-approved roll cage. Sadly, a bore-scored Porsche 911 is taking all of my time and budget away from this build so it is time to move it on to a new home.
The good parts:
- Superbly wrapped with a handbuilt front splitter and rear wing. Looks absolutely fantastic
- Long service history
- Lowered springs with Eibach camber bolts
- Team Dynamics 18" refurbished white wheels
- Kracken back box, sounds incredible
- 2 x OMP bucket racing seats with racing harness
- Stripped out interior
- Valid MOT until November 2025
- Can be driven away, does not need trailering
The not so good bits:
- Whilst drivable, the engine is in need of some light TLC.
- Has a display roll cage at the moment, not suitable for actual track day use
- Track-prepped dashboard not wired in
- A documented change of numberplate recently (the previous owner wanted to keep the numberplate for nostalgic purposes)
The car is currently being stored at a specialist indoor dry car storage in West Sussex. With enough notice, I can get the car out of storage for a test drive.
A visually fantastic car that needs some gentle TLC to become as mechanically impressive as it looks and sounds.
That old cliche stands - you won't find another one!
