Description

Standard Vanguard Six 1961 MK 111 - 1998 cc with rare 3 speed column change Current mileage is shown at 69,447 The engine plate shows the car had an original reconditioned Standard/Triumph engine at some time The car has one former keeper on the log book since 17/5/1961 I purchased the vehicle from a museum 24/3/2002. It was donated by the wife of the former owner who had passed away. I drove the car home and it went straight into dry storage as I had other projects on the go - I didn't get a new V5 at this time 20/4/2015 it came out of storage and was moved to my garage at home and a V5 obtained. The car had an Mot on 29/4/2015 and was in regular use. The car was laid up in 2016 but back on the road again in April 2024 and is now stored under a car cover on my drive I haven't had to do too much to the car since owning it. Ahead of going back on the road in April 2024 the following works were carried out The wheels were painted Clutch master cylinder replaced Brake master cylinder resealed Clutch slave cylinder replaced All front wheel cylinders replaced All rear wheel cylinders and adjusters replaced Gater/Boots replaced 2 pairs of Brake shoes replaced Anti roll bar bushes replaced 1 drop link assembly replaced Fan belt replaced. (All parts from the Standard Owners Club) All brake assemblies have been sprayed black The engine bay has been cleaned to show the original colour scheme. Overall the bodywork is surprising solid for its age It's a great project for someone as its so solid, starts up, runs and drives Oil pressure is good Clearly someone painted it black at some point and that paint is coming off and flaking as you can see in the photos so could do with a respray There is a small crease to the O/S/F and rear door where some idiot dove into it. Could do with new rubbers around the window and screen glass, door seal rubbers and boot rubber. The heater motor and hose connector need repair or replacement Horns and screen wash need reconnecting The tyres are now cracking and will need replacing for road use. Front footwells have both had a small repair plate welded in prior to my ownership but the floor pans are solid There is some light rusting to the bonnet front and two front doors, the slight crease to the O/S/F and rear door from being hit. There is also a rust hole under the N/S/R wing as pictured ( has filler in it from previous owner) There is a tear in the drivers seat
