Description
Meet Claude, the Ford Transit Connect micro camper, my first camper. He is based on a LWB, high roof crew van. This means he has factory windows in the side doors and he had rear seats in another life, but that extra footwell space in the rear now comes in handy, as it has allowed room for a fridge, a toilet, some storage space and the leisure battery. To be honest, I did not build Claude, credit goes to the previous owner, and they have done a grand job.
Claude is a Trend model, so has alloy wheels, elec. windows/mirrors, auto lights/wipers, heated front/rear windows and aircon. On the camper side of things, he has a pull out bed/bench, which sleeps 2 and is very thick and comfy memory foam. My husband is just over 6ft, and he fits in the bed. There is a near brand new Porta Potti 335. He came with one when I bought him, but I wanted a new one, so stuck with the same model because fixings were already in place and the space had been designed to accommodate it. There is a sink with tap which runs off the leisure battery and has clean/dirty water containers. There is a fridge which runs off the power too. Power comes from a leisure battery which is wired for split charging, but will also charge from the solar panel on the roof when you are parked up. There are plenty of lights (7), USB ports (9), a 12v port and a 230v socket that runs off a 300w inverter. Claude is fully insulated and carpeted, and has a set of insulating covers for the 4 rear windows. There is a pop up vent on the roof which opens on 3 different latches to let more/less air in, and it has a blackout cover and a mosquito/bug cover.
I wasnt sure when I started out that a camper would be for me, but have loved the last few months with Claude, so much so, that I now already want to upgrade to a proper campervan, so sadly, he has to find a new home and go on new adventures with a new owner.
Claude is now 13 years old, so he does have some age related dents/marks/scrapes etc. Unfortunately, a previous owner lost the service book for Claude, so there is no service history. I do have some old MOTs and some paperwork for completed repairs/maintenance though, including - 11/21-wet belt was replaced and upgraded to a chain. 3/22-alternator replaced and short service done. 5/24-full service. 3/25-rear discs/pads. This was all done prior to my ownership. In my ownership - 5/25-Full service. Mileage will rise slightly as still using locally. Serious buyers only please. Thanks for looking.
