Description
2002 Jaguar X308 XJR - 96,500 miles - MOT until May 2026
I'm the 4th owner of this well-cared-for, low-mileage example, having bought it privately in January 2023 at around 90k miles. It's now showing 96,500.
Maintenance & service history:
Service book stamped by Jaguar dealers up to 90,000 miles.
Most recent service at 94,331 miles by independent Jaguar specialist (Kent Jag Centre, Sevenoaks), including new spark plugs, supercharger belt, auxiliary belt, and brake fluid.
Engine starts first turn and runs beautifully.
Brakes: front discs and pads replaced by previous keeper; rears renewed during my ownership.
This engine came from factory with metal timing chain tensioners (not the problematic plastic type).
Cosmetics & bodywork:
Recently had paintwork professionally refreshed by Five Oak Auto Body after some clearcoat issues caused by past touch-ups. The car now looks the best it has in years.
As with any classic all-steel Jaguar, there will always be small jobs to keep on top of, but I've dealt with issues promptly to prevent them becoming problems.
Interior & features:
Interior in very good condition overall - one driver's seat bolster shows noticeable wear, but the rest of the cabin is excellent. Headliner still firm with no sagging.
Original Pioneer 6-disc CD changer plus factory-fitted car phone module (still present in boot).
Parrot Bluetooth system installed - supports hands-free calls and music streaming.
MOT & condition:
MOT valid until May 2026.
Welding carried out at last test; advisories noted on corrosion to springs.
Full MOT history available on gov.uk for peace of mind.
This is a solid, well-maintained X308 XJR with a strong service record, sensible mileage and plenty of life left. If I had more time and garage space, I'd be keeping it but personal circumstances mean it now needs to move to a new home. I hope the next owner enjoys it as much as I have and keeps it on the road for many years to come.
