Description
Edit 02-09-25: New plugs, leads and coils. Engine running well.
Up for sale is my 1992 Jaguar XJS V12 Facelift, finished in rare factory Solid Black with a contrasting Parchment leather interior- the best colour combination IMO. I've owned this car since 2018 and it has been a joy to drive and show.
The car has covered 92,000 miles and has five previous owners, with history, MOTs and receipts dating back to 2000. Originally supplied by Creamer Jaguar in Kensington, it has a well-documented ownership history including Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club membership.
Bodywork presents well for its age; believed to be original paint with some minor blemishes and micro-scratches consistent with age. Panels are straight and original. The car sits well and has a great stance.
Interior is clean and complete; all electrics working including rare factory sunroof, seats, and R134a-converted air conditioning. Some imperfections: damage where a handsfree unit has been poorly mounted in the past. Sunvisor mount broken, seatbelt receiver plastics deteriorated (I have two Jaguar NOS replacements included for the rear lap belts), minor scuffs on driver's doorcard.
Developed a misfire in 2021. I had to put it away in covered, dry storage 'for a few weeks' whilst busy with work and other commitments. Time goes by and now we're here, four years or so later. Now I am expecting a family to arrive so really, really won't have time to get into it.
Starts and idles with good oil pressure and coolant temp. Injectors recently tested and rebuilt, new fuel rail seal fitted, distributor inspected.
Has a custom stainless exhaust system.
Will need recommissioning: oil/brake fluid/coolant change, brakes sticking slightly, ideally will require brake discs/pads, tyres, and general TLC.
Surface rust on suspension components from storage - should clean up well. Comes with oil filter, drive belts, fuel filter, NOS seatbelt parts.
Original toolkit and Jaguar-branded fitted car cover included
Private plate J444GNP included (original: K67FYP)
Important Notes:
The car is not currently roadworthy - no MOT and must be trailered away.
Sold as seen, by a private seller with no warranty implied or offered.
With some mechanical attention, this XJS V12 could be returned to reliable running condition and enjoyed again as a standout classic. Values are rising and this example - in one of the best colour combos - represents a great opportunity for the right enthusiast to get a proper V12 Jaaaag.
