Description

This Jaguar XJS Convertible is a stylish British classic from the final years of production and presented in the handsome factory colour of Carnival Red. It is powered by a 4.0-litre AJ16 straight-six engine producing 238bhp and sending it to the rear wheels via a smooth four-speed ZF automatic transmission. Built in November 1995 this XJS represents the last phase of the production, and therefore benefits from a selection of desirable last of the line model improvements. The AJ16 engine was enhanced with coil-on-plug ignition, meaning no distributor, as well as a new engine management system, upgraded pistons, and magnesium alloy valve covers. Commemorating 60 years of Jaguar cars this was called a Celebration specification Convertible with embossed seats a wood-rimmed steering wheel and gear shifter, and chromed mirror castings and new bonnet badge. This example is finished in the tasteful hue of Carnival Red over a Cream leather interior accented by wood veneer inlays on the dash, centre console, and door cards, and the car sits on a set of Aerosport alloy wheels finished in silver. Factory specification includes electrically adjustable front seats, air conditioning, cruise control, a Jaguar-branded radio cassette player with six CD disc player, analogue dashboard clock, and heated rear screen, it is also accompanied by its original hand books and spare keys . The original owner was Jaguar the second owner had the car a number of years and cherished the car he sadly passed away and was then inherited by his son who kept the car in storage for fifteen years he then sold the car to Chiltern of Bovingdon who recommissioned the car it was at this time I bought the car from Chiltern, I have owned the vehicle for five years having purchased it on 25/09/2020. Apart from the usual servicing I have had the vehicle ceramic coated and the underside wax oiled I was told the under side including floor panels is clean rust free and never had any welding. Now in our 80s we are moving to a much smaller bungalow and it makes sense for us to sell "Little Red" as we call her, we have enjoyed owning her and taking her to local car shows. We are advertising her at 17k which is many thousands of pounds less than we paid for her but would accept a sensible offer, we are also advertising her on other platforms.
