Description
These cars, their story and the performance are legendary and if you are looking at this advert I'm sure you'll already have done your research and know all about the P1 and why Subaru enlisted the help of Prodrive to develop the car. If you don't (and even if you do), I urge you to find Matthew Hayward's article in Octane Magazine no. 240 titled "A Very British Coup" which is both informative and a superb piece of automotive journalism. With an initial production run of 1000 (although only 600 remain) this is an incredibly rare opportunity to buy a single digit car NUMBER 0008.
This car was originally registered to Subaru UK Ltd in March 2000. I purchased it back in 2016 with the intention of competing in hill climbs. Unfortunately the purchase coincided with a unique opportunity to buy a restoration project which has taken all my time and most of my money so the hill climb dream was never realised and the car has sat in my garage only really venturing out for annual MOTs.
The car has covered 70250 miles and is in excellent condition inside and out and as far as I can tell pretty much as it left the factory with very few modifications. Although having 8 owners you will see from the copy of an old V5 that it had 5 owners in its first 4 years (not unusual for a car that was in such high demand in its early life) and owned by me and the previous owner for the last 15 years. I have a raft of old invoices detailing a clutch at 42000 miles in January 2006 and cambelts, the most recent of which I had done in April 2022 as I was concerned it was going brittle and perishing along with some light recommissioning, fluids etc. I also had the brakes overhauled and the callipers refurbished and rebuilt.
