Description

Early 2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor (R170) - 81,800 miles - Full Mercedes Service History - Exceptional Provenance This is a rare opportunity to own an outstanding example of the original SLK 230 Kompressor - the pre-facelift R170 model, finished in elegant black with black & oyster trim and two-tone leather seats. With just 81,800 miles, a full Mercedes-Benz service history, and a fascinating ownership story, this SLK has been cherished from new and is presented in immaculate condition. Highlights 2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor (R170, pre-facelift) 2.3L Supercharged engine Black exterior, black/oyster interior with two-tone leather Only 81,800 miles Full Mercedes-Benz service history + folder of bills Fresh MOT valid until August 2026 Freshly serviced and fitted with new matching tyres all round Fully functioning retractable hardtop roof No bodywork or structural rust (rare at this age) Beautifully refurbished interior trim - no peeling or fading plastics This car was purchased new in 2000 by an eminent Oxford Professor, internationally renowned for his pioneering work in knee replacement surgery. He cherished the SLK for nearly 24 years, sparing no expense on maintenance and always keeping it garaged. The impeccable Mercedes service record and stack of bills speak to his devotion to the car. Following his passing in 2024, the car was retained by the family. After a brief period of non-use, it came into my ownership. I addressed everything needed - servicing, tyres, MOT, and cosmetic refurbishment - to bring it back to the exceptional condition it deserves. As a result, the V5 will show just three owners in total, although it has only been truly cared for by one family until this year. Mechanically, the car is excellent. The engine runs smoothly, and the most recent MOT and service confirm its superb condition. Please take the time to watch the video which includes a detailed view of the underside of the car, taken during the recent service, showing a rust-free structure - a rarity on SLKs of this age. Cosmetically, the car is equally impressive. These early R170s are notorious for interior plastics degrading, but I've had the trim stripped and refinished in the original colour. Externally, the paintwork is also in superb condition for the car's age. Good examples are becoming increasingly scarce, especially with low mileage, no rust, and a continuous Mercedes service history - a car not only for enjoyment, but for long term investment.
