Description
Volkswagen Transporter 2.0 TDI DSG Camper - West Bridgford, Nottingham
Mileage: 156,743 miles
MOT: Valid until 30th October 2025
Tax: Paid until June 2026
Serviced annually
This is a 2010 Volkswagen Transporter 2.0 TDI DSG, converted into a camper/day van with a professionally fitted pop-top roof, camping downlights, swivel passenger seat, tow bar, and all original rear seats and table included. It has been extremely well cared for, with full service history, receipts, and over 10,000 spent on maintenance and upgrades.
The van has received regular annual servicing and many jobs have already been done, including:
2018 - Full service with new power steering pump & fluid (632 pounds), new cambelt & water pump (265 pounds), new wheel bearing (120 pounds)
2019 - MOT with new rear brake pads, switches, wipers (201 pounds)
2020 - Full service with all filters & oil (247 pounds), plus 3 new tyres (234 pounds)
2021 - Full gearbox strip & rebuild with new dual mass flywheel, driveshaft & diff carrier (2,062 pounds), full service, wheel alignment, new suspension coil springs (320 pounds), new caliper, rear brake pads & wheel bearing (377 pounds)
2023 - New exhaust, new discs & pads front and rear (593 pounds)
2024 - Major service with new shock absorber, brake discs & pads, tyre, wash pump & wiper stalk (1,056 pounds)
2025 - New alternator, aux belt & tensioner (683 pounds), new steering rack, PAS fluid & pipes, ABS sensor and tracking (1,360 pounds)
In addition, a professionally fitted pop-top roof was installed at a cost of around 4,000 pounds, making this an ideal base for camper use.
Note that there has been much more done, all documented, but I cannot add this due to character limit. I can send if desired!
Condition & Outstanding Work
The van is currently in limp mode due to a faulty DSG mechatronic unit. It still drives but will not shift out of 2nd gear. A replacement has been quoted at 2,300 (unit, labour, programming & VAT).
There is some light cosmetic wear: scratches, wing mirror scuffs, and one sliding door with an electrical fault (manual operation works, repair kit worth 169 pounds included).
Summary
This is a well-cared-for Transporter camper with a huge amount of documented maintenance already completed, including major mechanical work, suspension, brakes, and steering. With the gearbox issue resolved, it will make a fantastic camper, day van, or multi-use vehicle for years to come.
